Q-Script is Scripting tool based on VBA and VBScript that allows a user to write external data into the payroll database, such as employee or timesheet batch data. Calculations can be processed and updated externally. Screens from within the payroll, such as a timesheet, can be pulled up externally, so a user may visualise or finalise the data without running the full payroll program.
Data can be output into unique reports also, giving a customised output of payroll, employee, tax, etc. data.
Q-Script Functions:
Two Versions
There are two versions of Q Script, built-in and standalone. There are differences between the two versions when it comes to what functions are available and how
those functions are called.
Built-in Q-Script
The functions of built-in Q-Script are accessed using vb scripts. Once the scripts are created they are
made available on the Tools menu.
Standalone Q-Script
The standalone version of Q-Script must be installed on the user’s computer. It is now part of the
application installer but previously installed itself.
Automated Scripts
There are a number of points within Quantum Payroll where scripts are automatically called and do not require interaction by the user.
The purpose of automated scripts is to allow you change the normal processing that occurs at these points without the need to make amendments to the program itself.
